Chernobyl: 30 years later, here’s what food grown there looks like and what the US can expect when a nuclear strike takes place on US soil.  Keep in mind that if 100 people get a sudden dose of  radiation of 350 rems, half of them will die in 60 days or displayed as LD50/60.  If you get 1000 rems you will die in an hour.   An EMP is different, never the less, you should be prepared for this kind of potential event as best as you can ahead of time so that you have some hope of survival when it does occur.
